Here's a neat story about a four year old girl who caught a fish bigger than she is.
This is the kind of rod that landed a BIG fish!
Little Phoebe Swann was fishing with her father and hooked something neither of them expected.
Using a Barbie Rod which is less than three feet long, Phoebe hooked a 40 inch, 50 lb. Black Drum. The feat is even more impressive when you realize that the fish was landed on 4 lb. test line!
Before anyone goes running for their converters, it works out like this. 40 inches is about 101 centimeters, 50 pounds is just shy of 23 Kg., and the line is just over a kilo and a half. NOT TOO SHABBY.
AND--if you think artificial baits are a waste of time--she caught this monster on a red plastic worm.
Her father did what any good parent would do. He rushed to her aid and worked for half and hour to land the fish.
