Here's why fish don't freeze in the Arctic

Have you ever wondered why fish in the Arctic Ocean don't freeze when the surrounding air temperature is around freezing while the water is below freezing and is only liquid because of its saltiness?

So did I.


It turns out fish in that region have a natural "anti-freeze" in their blood

I found this article outlining a study German researchers are doing on this topic.
