If this blog played a local angle, I'd have a great title!
It was announced this week that Pittsburgh is going to play host to the 2009 Forest L. Wood Cup Championship. This marks the first time since 2005 that a major tournament has come to the Steel City.
In 2005, Pittsburgh hosted The Bassmaster Classic won by Kevin Van Dam with a record LOW weight. FLW officials are hoping the fishing will be better this time!
The FLW Cup, part of the FLW which sponsors over 200 competitions each year, is named for Forrest L. Wood, the founder of Ranger boats.
You can read the announcement here.

Although it's a year off, if things stay the way they are now, I'll probably try and volunteer at the weigh-in and try to get some good pics at the FLW tourney since I live here. I still kick myself for not doing it in 2005. It's like a lot of big shindigs--you may not like the main draw but all the hoopla makes for some interest!!!!
