One big perch!

Somewhere along the way, this blog mentioned the difference between Australian Perch and American Perch.
Let's throw one more into the mix and talk about the Nile Perch.
The Nile Perch is one big fish, growing to slightly over six feet or nearly two meters and weighing around 200 kg. or 440 pounds although most Nile Perch are caught before they reach that size. In fact, in the accompanying video, Zeb Hogan of National Geographic Television is landing a fish that weighs only 100 pounds.
If you plan to add Nile Perch to your list of trophies, get your shots because you're going to have to go to Africa to land one. And, most importantly, make sure you have some strong tackle!
