Science weighs in on fish vision

Plenty of theories exist on the subject of fish vision and anecdotal evidence evidence abounds in anglers' circles.

Despite the the stories you hear down at the pier, true science has only tackled the subject of color distinction in a handful of species.

Owing to their popularity, it appears bass are entering the mix. Here's the beginnings of a study I found on my browser this morning.

Beware of 'Crocs and Gators!

Regular readers are going to know that I'm far from a "Wild Kingdom" sort of guy but, I have an appetite for the outdoors. With that appetite comes a healthy respect for animals with the ability to devour victims despite the fact I have little to fear from them.

Although I don't worry about running into them, two nasty creatures that quickly come to mind are crocodiles and alligators.
