Fifty cent reels and a Ryobi update
September 7th 2008 00:55
The only thing better than getting eight reels for four dollars is getting TEN reels for four dollars! That's what I did the other night at the flea market but two of the lot were unsalvageable so, now I have eight reels.

I haven't tried contacting them yet so, my advice would be to try their email first and go from there!
From the limited information I've found, Ryobi turned over their tackle making enterprise back in 2000. Although some of their tackle was priced extraordinarily low, it's still in use today.
I've already posted about "practicing what I preach" so this whole affair could go unmentioned except for the fact that I unexpectedly managed to get a Ryobi reel.
This is a Ryobi Fin Tek Silver Spin. It's a salt water reel so, I won't be mating it with the Ryobi rod I got a few weeks ago!
Like I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, it's the same outfit that turns out power tools. A web search turned up this address for the company now servicing the old equipment:

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
