Saltwater fish numbers decline
July 19th 2009 00:06
It should come as no surprise that the number of saltwater fishes is declining. The eye opener is that species not targeted by fishermen are also being reduced.
According to a recent report, overfishing alone is not the problem.
Scientists suggest the decline may be the result of changes in coral reef habitats that have taken place over the past few decades.
Prior to this study, scientists attributed the decline to overexploitation of sea life.
