Basic tools for fly tying

Here's video outlining the basic tools needed for fly tying.
I'd like to expand on a couple of points from the video.
It's very basic but a good fly starts with a good vise. Various manufacturers sell kits to get you started in fly tying. These have everything you need but the vise often leaves something to be desired. Make sure your vise has strong jaws and , possibly the most important quality, make sure your vise has a good, solid base. A good base and strong jaws will allow you to accidentally bump the vise and not spoil you creation!

Another point made is the need for special thread in fly tying. This is generally true also but, I worry more about the vise. However, sewing thread is usually "fuzzier" than fly tying thread and fails to result in a clean, professional looking end result. Also, the aspect of fly tying thread being stronger is not just so much hot air from the tackle companies. It's 1000% true so, if you want flies that hold together, even in salt water, shell out some money and get the good stuff.
