Folding scissors

If you've ever been fishing and had to cut a piece of line, you know what a drag it can be. A knife is too big and sharp but...
You learn what it's like to "...do what ya gotta do," in that situation but I've discovered a new toy that is a real Godsend!

I felt a little weird going to the sewing shop but the first time I didn't have to worry about cutting my fingers I didn't feel so bad about buying folding scissors!
As you can tell from the picture, I've used mine a few times and, even though they're supposed to be stainless steel, once they're pitted, I don't think there's much of a way to stop the downward spiral!
These things are great to have--not just for fishing but, for every day life. Aside from trimming the tag end of knots, if you discover a loose thread or seam on your clothing, it's a lot better to cut the tread instead of pulling it!
The biggest reason I recommend folding scissors is the convenience. Aside from the quick trims I mentioned, many varieties have rings on them to attach to key chains and will safely fit into your pocket.

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
