Folding stools

I wanted to show you my latest toys.
Both of these things come in pretty handy for fishing and, believe it or not, I have used both of them although you may think they are similar.
The best feature about either of these accessories is the folding stool feature that comes in REAL handy if you can't do a lot of standing or for urban fishing where you may be forced to stand on a concrete walking path.
The first stool is equipped with a strap that goes over the shoulder and features an expandable pouch for carrying a couple accessory boxes as well as another pouch that is insulated for your lunch or cold drinks. Along with those is a holder for a rod and another for a drink can and if you use those there is one more pouch in front where you can stick a newspaper!
Although I didn't get the backpack from Field & Stream, their logo is on there. First impressions may say you have more room in it but there are separate pouches in the over-the-shoulder model.
That's not to say I'm favoring one over the other. Like I said, either is GREAT for urban fishing. The backpack has more storage room so it's nice to be able to pack plenty of equipment along with a telescoping rod and then jump on the bus and make a run into downtown. But, if you're facing a situation where you have to take a lunch, it's best to store it separately because the backpack lacks an insulated compartment, On the other hand, the shoulder model is perfect for night fishing because I pack less equipment.
I hate to bring this up but one BIG reason I have both stools is the price. Similar items are often around 70-80 bucks. I don't remember exact prices but the backpack was under 30 and the over-the-shoulder was around 20. They're probably not the greatest in the world but, for my purposes, they more than fill the bill.
For what it's worth, I got these stools at my two big sporting goods stores. The backpack came from Dicks and the other came from Wal-Mart. I know Wal-Mart isn't just a sporting goods store but, they have a good department where I shop.

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
