Fishing high water

I wonder if it’s gonna stop this rainy pattern. Rain, sun, rain, sun, This kind of weather may be good for the grass but it makes fishing tough! This funky weather has made most bodies of water pretty high and muddy. Personally, when the weather is high and muddy, I like to make it easy on myself and try to hook a bass or two.
Flooding has been a problem in many areas because water in pouring into ponds, lakes, and rivers and unbelievable rates! When water gets deeper, even if you’re not going for bass, you have to adjust your tactics. If you have a pattern that usually works in an area, adjust ir for the added water. Say you’re fishing 5-10 feet, if the water has raised 5 feet, you have to allow for that and start fishing 10-15 feet.
Keep in mind your lure choice if the water is murky. You may want to try darker lures and/or fuller skirts on jigs or spinners. Something like black, blue, or purple may be in order. If you prefer spinner baits, try something with a copper blade.
Sound will give you and edge since vision will be limited. I always like a lure that makes noise anyway but, if you don’t, this may be a good time to add some of those rattle tubes! If I’m using a lure with sound, I’m not opposed to backing off on the color a bit. I always like some contrast so, I may go with a something like black/yellow.
In these murky conditions, I’m not going to waste my time on things that don’t work. Maybe I’m ADHD but, I give a lure 10 minutes and if I don’t get any action, I go with something else. Fishing water after a rain can be a losing proposition anyway so, I’m not going to wasted time.
