How to reel in a fish

January 16th 2009 01:23
Here's a video about something pretty basic--reeling in a fish.

You may think, "How tough can it be?"

A lot of people say you haven't caught a fish until you reel it in and a lot of fish are lost in the reeling process!

Looking at the equipment, and since "tarpon" is mentioned, I'd say this video is aimed at saltwater anglers but it's message rings true for all anglers.

The "pump and reel" technique mentioned is great for all fish that are big or fighting like crazy because it takes stress off of your reel and the mention of tight line during retrieve in imperative to success because otherwise the fish can throw the hook.

Until next time--watch your line and watch yourself!
