KVD leads pack

It's probably not going to surprise many people that Kevin Van Dam is leading this year's Angler of the Year race with only two tournaments left in the season.
Van Dam is on top of the standings with 2,026 points, besting Edwin Evers who has 1,873 points. Close behind him is Gerald Swindle with 1,825.
With two tournaments left and less than 200 points separating first and third place it's still anyone's race but since these three have been fishing very solid and consistently, we could be looking at the final standings. In a tournament year marked by a different winner for each contest, consistency is the name of the game at this point and rather than a smashing victory, Angler of the Year may be won by a simple accumulation of points.
On the other hand, Edwin Evers won an early tournament and could do so again. KVD has been known to rise to the occasion and he could fish hard enough to turn back any threat. Third place Gerald Swindle? Don't count out the G Man because he's been very consistent the past couple of years and 200 point isn't that much to make up in two tournaments!
