Making a case for the Husky Jerk

July 27th 2011 01:49
Since this guy talked jerk baits in general, I thought it might be apropos to have a vid of him espousing the virtues of the Rapala Husky Jerk.

Although I'm certainly not a jerk bait angler, a few of them are in my tackle box and Rapala's Husky Jerk has grown to be my favorite
.

Rapala Husky Jerk
The Husky Jerk I use is illustrated at the right. You'll notice a difference in color. I'm usually not big on lure color but, in the case of Rapalas, I'll give them the benefit or the doubt and admit I need to make a change.

One thing I like about the Husky Jerk is that it suspends which comes in very handy if predatory fish are feeding in suspending schools. The other thing I like is the size. Despite the fact different lengths are available, I like a bait around 11 centimeters long. The vid is 13 cm. but, when you're talking centimeters, that's not much of a difference. It's a good size for rivers, lakes, or streams, while being big enough for off shore work if you want to hit the surf.

I have to admit--I'm like a lot of anglers out there; I like Rapala Lures--I just don't like the price!

Remember to take the hooks outta yer pocket before ya sit down!
