Make a Flying C

November 7th 2008 00:16
The Flying C is a dynamite lure for large trout, steelhead and salmon--three species I seldom get to fish. None the less, here is a step by step video on how to make your own lure. You can pass some time and save a few bucks in the process.

I can't say I've NEVER used this lure for other species. It works fairly well for spring time bass.

A few things that aren't brought out in the video-- try latex tubing or something similar that is easy to work with. Don't waste your time trying to use oxygen tubing or the large sizes of heat-n-shrink wire covering like you pick up at Radio-Shack. You want to try this with wire about .024 gauge. Finally, don't worry if you don't have wire bending tools like these guys! If you want to form a circle, you can bend the wire around a screwdriver or nail and form it into shape with a pair of pliers.

I figure, even if you don't make lures, you can listen to the music!

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
