Make a wooly bugger
June 5th 2008 00:54
When it comes to fly fishing, I read other people's stuff to get info!
For years I though a Wooly Bugger was a lead jig with a piece of yarn tied on it!
I guess I was the victim of some bad information on that one!
Here's the way it's really done!

And then there's this one too!
If you don't like tying flies, maybe you like Bob Dylan???
Woolly Buggers are great flies because they represent lots of things fish-usually trout-feed on: nymphs of dragon or damsel flies or leeches and baitfish,or any other other creature that might look appetizing.
Good body colors are black, olive, brown, white, maroon, or purple. Weight added out of sight under the body can help if you want a fly that sinks.

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
