Easy inline spinners

January 23rd 2011 03:08
A while back I found a vid about making lures from simple office supplies.

This vid carries it a bit further and makes inline spinners from paperclips.

These are a few of the inline spinners I've made. The most recent example is the large on in the middle which is used for musky. The lure at the far left, from five or six years ago, is the first spinner I made that caught anything. It's been good for bass and catfish.

If you've though about making your own lures, inline spinners are a good place to start. With the proper tools, it's fairly easy and, as you can see, they're quick to make.

Although brass lure bodies are available, I like the fact using simple sinkers are employed in this video. I also like the fact steel weights are used--not so much because steel is better for the environment, but because steel weights hold up better and the paint is less likely to chip.

Remember to take the hooks outta yer pocket before ya sit down!
