Weekend tip--Making your own attractant
January 5th 2008 04:57
It's not too hard to make your own attractant. All you need to do is take some Vaseline petroleum jelly and add about 2/5 of the volume in garlic powder. I like Vaseline because I've tried other brands but they've all been too "waxy." AND this formula is pretty easy to use because it works by volume and there's no chance of messing up when you convert one measurement to another.
I've experimented with this stuff and found that the down side to this mixture is that it leaves a residue on your lures which attracts dirt and such.
IF you can find garlic cooking spray, it's supposed to make a pretty good attractant but I can't vouch for that because I can never find it around where I live!
EASY ATTRACTANT:
3 oz. (whatever) Vaseline petroleum jelly
2 oz. garlic powder
Mix well and spread on your lures

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
