Man eater?

October 28th 2009 01:01
Giant catfish
Stories about man-eating catfish spring up all the time from areas in Asia or South America.

Usually, the term is used to identify a giant fish having the capacity to devour a human rather than the fact that it has actually consumed human flesh.

The above photograph, which circulate the Chinese Internet back in 2007, supported the claim which came on the heels of reports that a man in the area was missing. The beast was gutted and photographs showing human remains were published.

This is where things get a little "iffy." Some reports put the fish at 9 feet. Others say it 3.1 meters which is a little over 10 feet. I know there are conversion variances but, I like my measurements a little closer!

Despite what may have been inside the beast, it was later identified as a whale shark--an animal hardly noted for meat consumption!

These may look like legs but...

To keep posts at a reasonable length check in tomorrow for a couple more alleged "man eaters." Same bat-time--same bat-channel!

Remember to take the hooks outta yer pocket before ya sit down!
