Watch where you cast!
July 10th 2009 04:02
This little tip is hard to follow on the first day of the season when everybody is on the shore shoulder to shoulder.
BUT--if you fish early in the morning or (like me) in the evening, you'll probably have better luck if you cast your line parallel to the shore instead of as far out as possible directly in front of you.
Small fish usually stay closer to shore and larger carnivorous fish will have to come in closer in order to get a bite to eat.

Remember to take the hooks outta yer pocket before ya sit down!
