How to use sinkers
April 9th 2010 00:48
When talking about sinkers, I often outline the horrors of lead.
Let's face it. Lead is cheap, out there and will be out there for some time to come! That was really driven home to me a while back when I was discussing tackle with a friend who is more up on environmental matters than am. We admitted to one another that although we are working on it, you'll still find lead in our tackle boxes.
That being said, here's a good video illustrating some various ways to attach sinkers.
Before someone asks me if I'm switching to saltwater, the answer is. "No."
These methods are universal and apply to many forms of fishing. When you're at the local stream or pond, downsize your sinkers.
As for the trolling sinker, it may be little on the large side but, for anyone who has been out at 2 AM trolling for catfish knows how important those sinkers can be.

Remember to take the hooks outta yer pocket before ya sit down!
