Tiniest fish ever!

One thing that bugs me about fishing blogs is they focus on the biggest fish you can catch. You name it--bass, catfish, pickerel, marlin--no matter where you fish, you can read about the biggest.
What if we do something different and talk about the smallest fish you can find?

If you go to the forest swamps of Sumatra you can find a fish only 7.9 mm long! That's about 1/3 inches for all you non metric anglers. This species of fish belongs to the carp family and is the world's smallest backboned animal.
Incredibly, these tiny fish live in dark, murky waters with an acidity of pH3, which is at least 100 times more acidic than rainwater. That's not gonna melt your skin but you don't want to swim in it.
The swampy home of the Paedocypris progenetica the scientific name of this tiny creature, was been damaged by fires in the 90's and is till threatened by logging, pollution, and the urbanization of society. To that end, it is believed that several varieties of Paedocypris have already been lost.
