It's still the weekend in the U.S.-here's a tip--the Surgeon Knot
October 14th 2007 00:30
This is a simple but, more importantly, STRONG knot you can use to join two lines of different diameters. If you're into fly fishing, this is THE knot to use to join leaders and tippets!
1. Lay the line and leader alongside one another, overlapping around 6 inches (15 cm.).
2. Next, tie and overhand knot and pull the leader through the loop.
3. Leave the loop open and pull the loose ends of both the line and leader through again.
4. Hold both the lines and the ends and pull the knot tight.
5. Clip the loose ends so they don't catch in the rod guides.

Until next time--watch yourself and watch your line!
