All I know is that it's been warm as can be here in the North East U.S. and it's going to stay that way for the next few days. That's good for fishing--keeps the fish off guard. Their natural instincts say it's time to move to their cold weather haunts but, since the days are staying in the 80s they don't know whether to stay or go--much to the anglers' delight!

However, enjoy it while you can. As indicators go--you know those fuzzy caterpillars, "woolly worms?" Old timers say you can tell how bad the winter is going to be by how black they are. I saw one the other day that was about 80% black!
