People often think the only time to fish is when the water is calm and the air is fairly still. Nothing can be further from the truth! In actuality, you may have better luck on windy day.
Your odds of hooking a keeper increase on windy days for various reasons. First of all, a lot of people think it's not good fishing weather if there's a little chop on the water and the fact they're NOT there will just make it that much easier for you to catch their fish!
Waves can be your ally in other respects. Wave action, though it may be small, can help hide any vibrations or disturbances you may cause. That's not to say you should go stomping around or throwing rocks into the water but, you can let your guard down a little. Also, wave action can help hide your image from fish. Remember, if you can see them, they can see you! Lastly, a windy day may be a cloudy day. If that's the case, so much the better because you don't have to worry about casting a tell tell shadow on the water. If you do get caught in the sun's rays, the waves can help break up your shadow.
So, if it's windy, now you have two ways to spend the day. You can fly a kite or go fishing.
